The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway flagged off a special intercity train between Dekargaon and Dibrugarh from Dekargaon on August 19th, 2019.
The train which links between Tezpur and Dibrugarh will have stoppages at 13 stations: Rangapara North, Balipara, Biswanath Chariali, Helem, Gohpur, Tatibahar, Harmuti, North Lakhimpur, Gogamukh, Dhemaji, New Sisirbargaon, Tangani, Dhamalgaon.
“On the very first day of its run, the Dekargaon (Tezpur) -Dibrugarh intercity train has evoked enthusiastic response among people with 100% booking in UTS class. A long-cherished need has been fulfilled,” NF Railway’s blue ticked Twitter handle wrote.
The intercity train will run on an experimental basis for a period of six months for five days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday).
The NF Railway is one of the 18 railway zones in India. Headquartered in Maligaon, Guwahati, it is responsible for rail operations in the entire Northeast and parts of West Bengal and Bihar.
