11 people, including 3 police personnel injured at Gorukhuti violence admitted to GMCH

Guwahati: Following the Gorukhuti violence in Darrang, at least eleven injured people have been shifted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) since Thursday night.

Of the eleven people, eight are resident protesters and the rest three are Assam police personnel.

The three police personnel have been identified as DSP Amrit Rai Choudhury, Apurva Ranghang and Munir Ahmed.

Speaking to the media, GMCH superintendent Abhijit Sarma said, “The condition of police personnel Munir Ahmed is not stable; however, he is recovering well. As on Thursday, eight resident protesters including a 13-year-old boy has been undergoing treatment at the GMCH since last night. All are injured in limbs except one Rejiya Khatun who is injured in the abdomen and suspected bullet is inside.  The condition of DSP Amrit Rai Choudhury is stable. He has suffered a head injury.”

  5. Jahir Uddin

  7. Sahar Ali
  8. Sarifuddin
  9. Amrit Ray Choudhury
  10. Munir Ahmed
  11. Apurba Ranghang
