1,202 people in Meghalaya urge for cancellation of Aadhaar data

Meghalaya, February 10: 1,202 people in Meghalaya have reportedly urged to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for the removal of their personal details from the site.

The cancellation was made through a mail.

The reason of the cancellation was stated that the enrollment was done without their consent.

However following the receipt of the mail, the UIDAI have reportedly stated that no Indian citizen can opt out of the state laws and further asked the people to lock their biometrics preventing any misuse.

Unlike the Adhaar holders cannot withdraw their names but UIDAI has the right to cancel or suspend Aadhaar numbers.
