An Italian journalist claimed that around 130-170 Jaish-e-Mohammad militants might have been killed in the surgical strike by the Indian Air Force that was launched on February 26th, 2019 at Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a report published in the Hindustan Times stated.

The IAF had carried out the airstrike in the dead of the night 13 days after the deadly suicide attack on a convoy of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14th, 2019 which claimed over 40 jawans.
