Out of the 133 positive cases, 73 persons were tested positive in Kamrup metro, while 31 persons were detected positive in Nogaon, 18 in Jorhat, 5 in Udalguri, 2 in Golaghat, 2 in Majuli, 1 in Dhemaji and 1 in Tinsukia district.

Hence, the total numbers of positive cases were 5388 till filling of this report. However, 3202 COVID patients were already discharged, while 2174 patients were still found active. So far, 9 persons had died of COVID in Assam.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, state’s capital Guwahati has been found to be the coronavirus hotspots in the entire North-eastern region as most of the returnees to the region pass through this city.

However, the state’s worry has been the recent upsurge of COVID-19+ cases without any travel history. On Saturday too, a doctor couple was tested COVID-19+ without any significant travel history that has multiplied the fear of community infection.
