2 held for robbing Rs 9 lakh worth areca nuts in Assam

Guwahati: In a sensational incident, two men were arrested for allegedly robbing Rs 9 lakh worth areca nuts from one man in Assam on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in Kamrup rural district where the accused persons reportedly robbed the areca nuts from the residence of one Bikash Barman.

Bijoynagar police under the leadership of Boko Police launched an operation and arrested the two culprits.

Meanwhile, a total of 20 sacks filled areca nuts worth close to ₹9 lakhs in the market from the possession of the two accused.

Both the accused have been taken to Boko police station for further interrogation and an investigation has also been launched.
