An Indian Army Cheetah helicopter crashed in Bhutan on September 27th, 2019 leaving two pilots dead.  The Indian Army pilot who died in the crash was of Lt Col (Lieutenant colonel) rank while the other was a Royal Bhutan Army officer training with the Indian Army, as per several media reports.

The crash occurred at around 1 pm near Khentongmani,Yonphula in Trashigang, a town in eastern Bhutan and the district capital of the Trashigang Dzongkhag.

The helicopter was approaching Yonphula to land when the accident happened due to the bad weather.

The helicopter went out of radio and visual contact soon after 1 pm. It was on way from Khirmu in Arunanchal Pradesh to Yongfulla on duty. The wreckage has been located.
