20 Coronavirus Hotspots In Delhi, 104 In Uttar Pradesh Sealed. Check List

As the numbers of positive novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases are surging, the Delhi government has sealed a total of 20 COVID-19 hotspots to contain the spread of the highly contagious virus, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced on April 8th, 2020.

The 20 hotspots have been notified as “containment areas” where people cannot go out of their houses and the government will ensure the delivery of essential items.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the national capital on April 8th, 2020 mounted to 669, with 93 fresh cases reported in a day. Nine died due to C)VID-19 and 21 persons have recovered and discharged from hospital.

The Delhi government also made face masks compulsory for people stepping out of their homes in the national capital.

The 20 hotspots are:

1.Entire effected street near Gandhi Park, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi
2. Entire effected street of Gali No 6, L 1 Sangam Vihar, New Delhi
3. Shahajahanabad society, plot no 1, Sector 11, Dwarka
4. Dinpur Village
5. Markaz Masjid and Nizamuddin Basti
6. Nizamuddin West (G and D block) areas
7. B Block Jhangirpuri.
8. H. No 141 to H. No 180, Gali no. 14, Kalyanpuri Delhi
9. Mansara Appartments , Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi
10. 3 Galis of Khichirpur including Gali containing H. No. 5/387 Khichirpur Delhi
11. Gali No 9, Pandav Nagar, Delhi 110092
12. Vardhaman Apartments, Mayur Vihar, Phase I , Extension, Delhi

On the other hand, the Uttar Pradesh government announced that it would seal COVID-19 hotspots identified in 15 districts of the state till the end of the 21-day nationwide lockdown on April 14th, 2020.

A total of 104 hotspots spread across 81 police station in 15 districts have been identified by the Uttar Pradesh health department, wherein a “complete lockdown” was enforced from midnight on April 8th, 2020.

 22 hotspots in Agra, 13 in Ghaziabad, 12 each in Lucknow, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Kanpur have been sealed to arrest the spread of coronavirus. The districts where orders will be implemented are Agra, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Shamli, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Meerut, Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Kanpur, Basti, Ferozabad, Saharanpur, Maharajganj, and Sitapur.

The sealed localities would be under a curfew-like situation. There would a complete prohibition on the movement of people and vehicles in these areas and the authorities would make arrangements for the doorstep delivery of all essential commodities. The seals COVID-19 hotspots localities would be sanitized.

The state government has announced the cancellation of all the passes issued to locals. The government will also issue an order making it compulsory for every person to wear a mask when venturing outdoors to contain the spread of the deadly infection.
