    24-Year-Old Goalpara Man Kidnapped, Thrashed, Murdered In Bongaigaon

    The kidnappers allegedly made a video of Saha being tortured and sent it to his family demanding Rs 50 lakh for his safe release

    In a sensational incident, a 24-year-old man from Goalpara district of Assam was kidnapped, brutally thrashed and killed, police said. The body of Ajay Saha was recovered from Boitamari in Bongaigaon district of Assam.

    Saha, who hailed from Lakhipur, went missing on February 25th, 2020. His body was found dumped in Bhairab Chura hills on the morning of March 9th, 2020.

    The incident sparked tension in the region. The police said that Saha was picked up from Lakhipur and taken to Bhairab Chura in a car. Enroute to Bongaigaon, Saha was thrashed by the two kidnappers.

    The kidnappers allegedly made a video of Saha being tortured and sent it to his family demanding Rs 50 lakh for his safe release.

    A joint operation was launched by Goalpara and Bongaigaon Police to rescue Saha. However, he succumbed to his injuries. The kidnappers then dumped his body and fled from the spot.

    Two persons have been arrested in relation to the matter. They have been identified as Lakhipur’s Aminul Islam and Abhaypuri’s Sahidul Islam. A manhunt has been launched to nab the other members of the gang.
