25 vehicles seized in Guwahati for collecting excess fare
Guwahati: The Kamrup Metro District Administration conducted enforcement drives on Friday in several areas of Guwahati against share taxis (magic) and city buses for allegedly overcharging passengers and other motor vehicle offences.
A total of 25 vehicles were seized during the drive that was conducted in the Chandmari, Ganeshguri, Bharalumukh and Khanapara.
Taking to Twitter, Kamrup Metro District Administration wrote, “Enforcement drives were carried out today against City Buses and Metro share Taxies (Magic) for alleged collection of excess fare and other MV offences at Chandmari, Ganeshguri, Bharalumukh, Khanapara. A total of 25 nos of offence cases have been registered.”

On Monday (December 20), during the drive the Kamrup Metro (M) Administration seized a total of 29 vehicles in the Jalukbari, Garchuk and Lalganesh areas of Guwahati.
On December 19, the District Transport (Enforcement) Department conducted an enforcement drive against sharing taxis in the Lalganesh region of the city for allegedly collecting excess fare. Around 30 vehicles were seized during the drive.
