    29 persons arrested in Guwahati for violating Lockdown norms

    Since June 30, 100 persons have been arrested by the Guwahati Police for lockdown violations

    Guwahati: With lockdown being imposed in Guwahati due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the city, the Guwahati Police on Saturday arrested 29 persons for violating the lockdown norms.

    The police also registered four cases and realized at least Rs 8,500 on persons for not wearing masks.

    Since June 30 till Saturday, July 4, the police have arrested 100 persons for lockdown violations.

    While the fine realized in connection with non-wearing of mask was Rs 46,500.

    The police further detained 377 vehicles till July 3 for violations of the norms.

    Guwahati over the past few days have reported a sharp increase in terms of COVID-19 cases.
