Guwahati: At least three workers died of electrocution and two other were grievously injured in Udalguri district of Assam on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Abbas, Fakir and Gheru Ali, who were working in bridge construction in Kalajhar.

Meanwhile, two other workers have been critically injured during the incident and have been admitted to the Udalguri Civil Hospital for medical attention.

The incident occurred when the workers went to their daily work of bridge construction. This created a tense situation among the locals.

Police reached the site and sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem reports. Further investigation regarding the incident is underway.
