322 fresh COVID-19 cases in Sikkim detected; positivity rate at 17.3%

Guwahati: With new 322 positive cases registered in Sikkim in the last 24 hours, the state has beached another record for the year 2022.

The state currently has 796 active cases which took the state’s positivity rate to 17.3 percent. Among the new cases, 228 cases have been reported from East Sikkim district.

Moreover, the West District recorded 23, the South District recorded 66 and the north district recorded 05 new cases.

A total of 03 COVID-19 patients recovered on Wednesday taking the state’s cumulative tally of recovered cases to 31747. The recovery rate to date stands at 96% and the death toll stands at 410.

So far, no Omicron case has been detected in Sikkim while the report of genome sequencing sent by the State Health Department to West Bengal in the first week of January is awaited.
