6 Arrested Including CRPF Jawans With Counterfeit Notes Worth Rs 14.5 Lakh, Fake Gold Seized

In an operation against the circulation of counterfeit currency and trading of fake gold, the Lakhimpur police have arrested as many as six persons including three CRPF soldiers.

On December 23th, 2019 the police had busted a fake currency racket at Lakhimpur’s Harmoti and arrested three CRPF jawans–Basudev Sharma, Uikendjit and Imkatam.

Meanwhile, based on intelligence inputs, the police on the Christmas eve recovered a fake gold statue of Jesus Christ from Bihpuria. Three fake gold traders Hasinur Rehman(30), Hasinur Rehman(24), Mahidul Islam(24) were arrested. A few mobile phones were also seized from their possession.

The operation was launched under the supervision of Lakhimpur SP, Rajveer.

The six of them are under police interrogation at present.
