60-year-old woman allegedly murdered in Assam’s Silchar
Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old woman was allegedly murdered in Meherpur, Silchar on Monday.
The deceased identified as Ayatul Nessa. According to sources, she had been living in a house with her relatives for a long time.
On Monday night, she was alone in her house when the incident occurred, said sources.
Sources claimed that the lady’s nephew found her body, drenched in blood on the floor of her room.
It was believed she was attacked with a sharp weapon, sources added.
The incident was immediately reported to the police by her nephew. After report police rushed to the scene and began an investigation
The police detained three people, including the woman’s nephew, for interrogation.
It was unclear whether the murder was for robbery or personal enmity, meanwhile an investigation has been initiated and will soon find the perpetrators, stated police.
