Guwahati: A 65-year old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Tuesday.
The man, identified as Motiyaj Barze, a resident of Chariduar, he was attacked by the wild elephant when the he was sleeping in his resident.
According to sources, the elephant then started vandalizing the house.
The tusker was also found injured in his leg, sources added.
Meanwhile, after being informed of the incident, forest officials did not arrive on the spot, local claimed.
On June 7, a woman was trampled to death and another person was critically injured by a wild elephant in Assam‘s Nagaon district.
The tragic incident took place at Singimari tea garden area in Rajagaon village under Kachua police station
