669 minors rescued from trains and stations under NFR in 2018

Guwahati, January 12: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in the year 2018 has rescued 699 minor girls and boys from trains and railway stations under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).

As per reports, most of the children were rescued while they were being trafficked and also traffickers were arrested while they were taking girls outside the state in trains.

It may be mentioned that five minor boys who had run away from their homes in Nagaland, last month three of them were rescued from the Brahmaputra Mail and the remaining two were rescued from Jan Shatabdi Express at Lumding.

Later, the rescued boys handed over to their families after proper identification.

Various squads of the RPF regularly conduct search operations at railway stations to prevent such incidents.
