Naga miscreants attack rally protesting assault on Assam’s Auto Rickshaw Driver in Golaghat

Guwahati/Golaghat, April 16: In a sensational incident, a massive fight broke out between the protestors of Naojan Auto Rickshaw Driver Association and Naga people in Chungajan area on Monday.

As per reports, on Friday an Auto Rickshaw driver was badly beaten up by eight unidentified Naga miscreants at the B-Sector of Chungajan area in Golaghat district.

Allegedly, the gang of Naga miscreants physically assaulted the Auto Rickshaw driver and later demanded money from him when they were traveling towards Nukhuti via Naojan area.

Speaking to media, locals further alleged that the incident happened in front of the base camp of the B-sector CRPF, but no steps were taken so far.

Sources also informed that following the Friday’s incident, a written complaint was registered at the B-sector CRPF base camp, but they failed to take prompt action.

It may be mentioned that a peace rally which was conducted today up to B-sector to protest against the alleged assault upon the Auto Driver in Nukhuti area, few Nagas attacked upon the rally and injured some protesters.

Meanwhile, Auto Driver’s Association had stopped running auto rickshaws in the Nukhuti-Naojan route in Chungajan area until the issue is not resolved.
