Guwahati: Meghalaya continues to surge in positive cases, with 97 people testing positive for the viral infection on Thursday, taking the number of active cases up to 457.
According to daily health bulletin the new cases included 93 in East Khasi Hills district, 02 each in West Jaintia Hills district and Ri-Bhoi district.
East Khasi Hills is the worst affected district with 360 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 58, Ri-Bhoi 23, East Jaintia Hills 06, West Garo Hills 05, West Khasi Hills 04 and South West Khasi Hills 01.
Till date, Meghalaya has registered 14,582 COVID-19 cases, including 151 deaths, 363 active cases and 13,974 cases of recovery.
On the other hand in Assam, three new fatalities by coronavirus infection pushed the death toll to 1,122 while the COVID-19 caseload mounted to 2,21,868 on Wednesday as 385 more people tested positive.
The three deaths were reported from kamrup Metro, Hojai and Dibrugarh districts, informed National Health Mission.
The state currently has 3,200 active cases, while, 2,16,199 patients have recovered from the disease. The COVID-19 recovery rate is 97.44%.
The state so far has tested 77,13,548 samples for COVID-19 and positivity rate is 2.88%.
However, a total of 12,74,347 people have so far received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine across the state and 2,74,254 persons have got the second dose of the vaccine.
