A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed? Well, A Group Of Girls From Jorhat’s Titabor Prove This True

    ABDUL RAJAK

Titabor: ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed’ is the most famous old proverb which we all grew up reading, listening and, some even experiencing. Life becomes easier when you have friends to support you. So when Class 12 student Pranami Dutta met with a life-threatening accident, her friends took to the streets to raise money for her treatment.

On July 22nd, 2019, a group of six girls from Mihiram Saikia Higher Secondary School located in Titabor town was seen holding a donation box and visiting households and shops seeking financial support for their ailing friend’s treatment.

Pranami, a resident of Mayengani village under Titabor town met with a horrific road accident on July 16th, 2019 and sustained severe head injuries. She is presently undergoing treatment at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital. She is the daughter of Dul Dutta and Dulumoni Dutta.

“It is not possible for Pranami’s father to solely bear the medical expenses. We wanted to contribute to the treatment of our friend. We want her to recover fast,” said Alimpika Saikia, friend of Pranami.

“We love Pranami. She is a warm and friendly girl. If a friend doesn’t help a friend to get back on life, who will? In times of crisis, we should never leave our friends. Whatever money we collect, we will hand over to Pranami’s father,” added Trishna Borah.

Nothing can beat a gift like having great friends to share your life with. A friendship that stands the test of time is valuable and these young girls have proved the old adage true and right.
