Abdul Khaleque Dubs Himanta, Ajmal As ‘Enemy’ Of Assamese Community

Congress candidate from Barpeta Abdul Khaleque on April 19th, 2019 alleged that All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal is a puppet of Assam Finance Minister and convener of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Himanta Sarma.

“Ajmal is being controlled by Himanta Biswa Sarma. Both Himanta and Ajmal are the enemy of the greater Assamese community,” Khaleque Told TIME8.

Launching a scathing attack on the State BJP president Ranjeet Dass over his comment that “Barpeta is a Pakistan”, Khaleque said, “If Barpeta is really a Pakistan then Dass should give up representing the legislative constituency.”

He further said, “The people of the Barpeta constituency will give a befitting reply to the BJP this election.”

Barpeta will go for polling on April 23rd, 2019 for the Lok Sabha election. Abdul Khaleque will contest against Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate Kumar Deepak Das. The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has fielded Hafiz Rafiqul Islam in the Barpeta parliamentary constituency. Sirajuddin Ajmal of AIUDF is the sitting MP from the parliamentary constituency.

A total of 1676854 electors will decide the fate of the candidates out of which 865300 are male, 811538 are female and 16 are third gender electors. A total of 2188 polling station will be installed across the constituency on the polling day.
