    ‘Absentee voters’ to cast ballot starting from tomorrow in Kamrup (M) election district

    The voting process through ballot papers will begin from March 27 and will continue for the next 10 days till April 5

    Guwahati: At least 3000 ‘absentee voters’ at four constituencies under the Kamrup Metro election district to cast their valuable votes through ballot papers from home.

    The voting process through ballot papers will begin from March 27 and will continue for next 10 days till April 5.

    Voting through ballots by ‘absentee voters’ in the category of senior citizens (above 80 years of age), persons with disability flagged in the electoral roll and Covid-19 suspect or affected persons will cast their votes at their residences.

    As per a press statement by the Kamrup Metro administration, for every ‘absenteevoters, one micro observer, two polling officials, one videographer and one police official will be visiting their residences and start the voting process.

    Notably, for the first time ever, CEO Assam has come with this voting process for the ‘absentee voters’ in the Kamrup Metro district.
