ABVP sweeps students union elections at Lumding College

Lumding, October 12: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today swept the Lumding College Students Union Election for the second time.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) student wing ABVP defeated its rival National Students Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of BJP’s largest opposition Congress to emerge victorious.

Backed by ABVP, Dwaipayan Mazumdar won the president’s post, Priyanka Das as the vice-president and Atal Sheel as the general secretary of the students union.

After the declaration of the results, the winning candidates took to the streets to celebrate the victory of the party. Lumding MLA Shibu Mishra also took part in the celebrations.
