    Adil Hussain conferred with Outstanding Achievement Award

    The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) and Birmingham Indian Film Festival (BIFF), together make up Europe’s largest Indian film festival

    Guwahati: Assam pride and popular Bollywood actor Adil Hussain, received one more feather in his cap as he was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement award at the prestigious Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival 2020 for his contribution to global cinema.

    The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) and Birmingham Indian Film Festival (BIFF), together make up Europe’s largest Indian film festival.

    Taking to Twitter he said, “Very honoured to have awarded the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award by the London Indian Film Festival for the work I had been part of for last few years. My deepest gratitude to all the filmmakers, crew and cast. Grateful.”

    Along with Adil, Freida Pinto and Vidya Balan were also conferred with Outstanding Achievement Award.

    The London Indian Film Festival has been curating independent films from the Indian subcontinent for the last 10 years. It has earned the reputation of showcasing the very best new independent cinema from the Indian subcontinent.

    This year, LIFF and BIFF jointly offered an online film festival titled-Love LIFF at Home. With growing demands and viewership, the organizers have decided to extend it ill August 19.

    The 11th anniversary of the fest was held online this time owing to the Covid 19 situation.

    Besides, Deepa Mehta and Shabana Azmi were also conferred with the ICON Achievement Award.
