On Thursday, the advocate had visited the Bazaar area along with a land mandal to inspect a building belonging to one Abu Khayer.

After the inspection, it was ascertained that the building would soon be brought down. However, soon after the mandal left, a group of locals allegedly spotted the advocate “entering into a deal with Khayer to not damage his building and demanded Rs 5 lakh”.

Enraged with the advocate, the locals first abused him verbally and later bashed him up.

The advocate, on the other hand, refuted the charges.

After a while, the Goroimari police reached the spot and rescued Sattar.
