Agartala: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) Tripura In-charge Ajay Kumar has formed a fact finding committee to submit a detailed report to the AICC President Sonia Gandhi and KC Venugopal (Gen Secretary-AICC) on current violence in the state.
In an order copy, Kumar wrote to PCC President Birajit Sinha that the violence in Tripura appears to be state sponsored and needs to be countered immediately.
The recent communal events in Tripura are suspected to be an attempt by the anti-national political forces who aim to create disturbance in the state.
“Under the Chairmanship of Gopal Chandra Roy, members have been nominated for the Fact Finding committee. The team will be responsible to submit a detailed report to the Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Venugopal (Gen Secretary-AICC (Org)”, the order copy reads.
The order copy also informed, “I also request the fact-finding committee to visit the communal hotspots and submit a detailed report within 5 days of the receipt of this letter. I have also requested the Chairman Gopal Chandra Roy to explore all legal options to safeguard the life and property of the people of Tripura”.
The AICC has formed an eight member committee comprising Gopal Chandra Roy as Chairman, Md Billal Mia, Lakshmi Nag Bardhan, Md Gyasuddin Choudhary, Nigamananda Goswami, Md. Badruzzaman, Md Abbas Ali Member and Chakrapani Tripura as member of the committee.
