Guwahati: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) on Wednesday announced the names of two candidates for by-polls to two assembly constituencies on October 30.
AIUDF general secretary Aminul Islam named Jubbar Ali for Bhabanipur seat and Khairul Anam Khandakar for Gossaigaon seat.
The list of names was approved by the core committee of AIUDF, a release said.
The by-polls in Gossaigaon have been necessitated due to the death of the sitting MLA. In Bhabanipur, the sitting MLA joined the saffron party due to which the seat has been vacated.
Meanwhile, AIUDF MLA Phanidhar Talukdar has been given a BJP ticket to contest the Bhabanipur seat.
