All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal on April 11th, 2019 claimed that the party would win the Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. It may be mentioned that polling for the first of the election held on April 11th, 2019 in five constituencies out of 14 in Assam.

“Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Dhubri Lok Sabha constituencies were under AIUDF and I am confident that the party will retain the seats this time also,” Ajmal said.

Ajmal held an election rally at Bohori in Barpeta for the AIUDF candidate Rafiqul Islam.

Ajmal further slammed the Congress for ‘betraying’ AIUDF and said, “We have given up 11 seats. We have not fielded candidates in those constituencies. They should give us the benefit of that. But they did not.” Besides, he said that AIUIDF is fighting against BJP and the Congress is fighting against AIUDF.

Moreover, he said that Congress candidates Abu Taher Bepari in Dhubri and Abdul Khaleque in Barpeta parliamentary constituency are of BJP. “Both of them have a good touch with the Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP,” Ajmal said.

Polling for the Lok Sabha elections in Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Dhubri will be held in the third phase on April 23rd, 2019.
