Guwahati: Extending support to the state government amid the COVID 19 crisis, newly formed political body Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) is coming up with special measures for the containment of the disease in the region.
At a time when the state government is planning to impose much more restrictions in the districts with higher positivity rate and mortality rate, AJP joins the fight against the global pandemic.
Addressing the media on Monday, AJP president, Lurinjyoti Gogoi said, “We are going to come out with special Covid management cells in each district for the COVID- 19 patients and also for general people in the state. These cells will monitor by our members. One can contact in the dedicated phones provided and share their grievances or any other requirements.”
So far Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has developed its Covid management cells in at least 15 to 20 districts of Assam.
Lurinjyoti Gogoi also mentioned that AJP is on the verge of developing a plasma bank. “Any willing people who recovered from COVID-19, he/she can donate plasma by registering themselves in https://plasmafinder.assamjatiyaparishad.com,” added Gogoi.
Gogoi also demanded the introduction of offline appointments for vaccination apart from online, as many people below the poverty line of the age group 45+ in the state are unable to get themselves vaccinated in the midst of state curfew from 12 noon.
“If necessary door-to-door vaccination drive must be introduced immediately,” Gogoi demanded.
