Guwahati, October 12: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) on Friday blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to control the price hike.
Led by firebrand peasant leader and KMSS advisor Akhil Gogoi, several KMSS workers and supporters staged a massive protest here on Friday against the rise in fuel prices, bus fares and other issues.
“The BJP government claims that under their rule, the Hindu people have united and they should apply a red tilak on their forehead. So I am ready to apply thousands of red tilkas on my forehead if that proves that I am Hindu and if by seeing this, the government cuts down the prices,” he said.
“With the increase in prices, the common man is struggling to survive. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to be blamed for the price hike,” he added.
Gogoi stated that Modi has become a “burden for the country”.
