Condemning the incident Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister and Minister-in-charge of Home, Y Patton has asked the Union Home Ministry to constitute a committee and enquire the matter. He has further asked the security to be tightened in the state to avoid any untoward situation and asked to coordinate with its Delhi counterparts to investigate the plot.

He also lauded the Delhi police for the arrest of the criminal. The Delhi police had arrested Farmana on May 17th, 2019. Sources informed that the criminal might have planned the assassination in Delhi, as the state politicians have frequent visits in the capital city.

Meanwhile Nagaland opposition leader, TR Zeliang expressed shock over the incident. “It is disturbing to learn about the contract to kill a Naga Politician after the LS election. Investigating agencies should treat this as high profile case and find out the person/s who to pay for the hit job,” Zekliand wrote on Twitter.
