    Amguri Congress candidate Angkita Dutta breaks down into tears, boldly accepts her defeat

    Congress candidate from Amguri constituency Angkita Dutta lost to Asom Gana Parishad candidate Prodip Hazarika with a margin of 6,105 votes

    Guwahati: Despite suffering a loss in the state election, Amguri Congress candidate Angkita Dutta boldly accepted her defeat as she spoke her heart out to thank all the party members including the Youth Congress and NSUI members for their immense support and love during the election period in the state.

    Angkita Dutta also got emotional while sharing a live video from her Facebook page.

    She along with younger sister Arpita Dutta expressed her gratitude towards the people of Amguri constituency and all her party members.

    “I didn’t think my journey would turn into this way after my father got expired, I was living all alone. But, in the last 5 years, I got immense love from the people of Amguri. You people are my family. Though I have lost the election, but, I will keep working for all of you,” said Angkita in her live video.

    Thanking her party members and booth level members of the Congress party, Angkita Dutta added, “All of you did a remarkable job in this election starting from Mahila Congress, Booth sevak, Youth Congress, NSUI to support me. Don’t be disheartened, you all gave your best, as a leader, I am proud of you all.”

    Angkita Dutta is a resident of Amguri Town in Sivasagar district of Assam. She is the daughter of Late Anjan Dutta who was President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee and a former minister.

    It is to be noted that Congress candidate from Amguri constituency Angkita Dutta lost to Asom Gana Parishad candidate Prodip Hazarika with a margin of 6,105 votes in this election.

    Angkita Dutta first contested election in 2016 from Amguri constituency and lost the battle against Prodip Hazarika from AGP party.

    Angkita has also served as Vice President of Assam Pradesh Youth Congress earlier.
