Guwahati: Home minister Amit Shah concludes his two-day visit in Assam on Sunday and is set to lay foundation stones of seven major projects in Manipur.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal bid Shah farewell in Guwhati Airport. Taking to Twitter he wrote, “Bid farewell to HM Shri @AmitShah ji at LGBI Airport, Guwahati as he concludes his visit to Assam. My heartfelt thanks to him on behalf of the people of the state for making this visit a historic occasion.”
Earlier in the day, Shah offered prayers at Kamakhya temple in Guwahati. He arrived at the temple nestled atop Nilachal Hills from PED inspection bungalow at Amingaon.
Shah was accompanied by Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The home minister Amit Shah , however, entered the sactum santorum of the temple with just three priests, as CM Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma waited near its gate.
The BJP leader also undertook a “parikrama” (circumambulation) around the shrine.
The home minister also chaired a meeting with Assam CM on Saturday to review the law and order situation in the state.
