    Amit Shah cuts short Assam campaign, returns to Delhi after naxal attack

    Amit Shah was scheduled to address three public rallies in Assam today including one each in Sarbhog, Bhabanipur and Jalukbari.

    Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has cut short his schedule on the last day of campaigning for the final phase of Assam Assembly elections and returned to the national capital in view of Chattisgarh’s Bijapur Naxal attack on Sunday.

    Shah was scheduled to address three public rallies in Assam today including one each in Sarbhog, Bhabanipur and Jalukbari.

    At least 22 security personal have lost their lives in Chattisgarh’s Bijapur Naxal attack among which one was from Assam.

    The deceased jawan Bablu Rabha of CRPF Cobra Battalion no 210 is a resident of Damra Patpara near Dudhnoi in Goalpara District.

    It may be mentioned that on Saturday, the Maoists launched a fierce attack on the security forces that were on their way to launch a major anti-Maoist operation in the densely forested areas bordering Birjapur and Sukma districts.

    16 out of 31 who sustained injuries in the encounter are form CRPF.
