Amit Shah likely to Launch BJP’s 2021 Election Blitz in Assam. Guwahati: Months ahead of the Assam Assembly Polls, Union home minister and BJP leader Amit Shah arrived Assam on Friday night.
Amit Shah’s two-day visit to the northeast region began with much fanfare as he landed around mid-night on December 25-26 at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
Scores of folk artiste and hundreds of supporters had created a festival-like atmosphere outside the airport, on Shah’s account.
The union minister was received by Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with health and education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP national vice president Baijayant Jay Panda and state party president Ranjit Kumar Das.
It is known that, Amit Shah has arrived Guwahati to take stock of the activities of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Assam Wing. Moreover, Shah would be formally launching the party’s campaign for the upcoming Assam Assembly Polls.
This is Shah’s second visit to the poll-bound Assam.
Besides the public rally, he is expected to address and the preparatory meetings with party colleagues and workers to flag off the BJP’s election campaign for the 2021 state assembly polls.
Notably, the BJP public meeting will take place at Amingaon in Guwahati at 1 pm on Friday in presence of a huge audience. The virtual inauguration of the nine law colleges of Assam is also said to take place in the same event.
On December 27, Shah will visit Imphal, Manipur where he will lay the foundation stones of various projects.
