GUWAHATI: Union home minister Amit Shah may visit Assam on December 26.

Party sources claimed that Shah may visit the state to attend the state BJP’s strategic meeting in the run-up to the state polls slated in 2021.

The scheduled meeting may discuss BJP’s seat-sharing arrangements with its ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) in the upcoming elections.

Recently, BJP succeeded to ally with United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL and Gana Shakti Party (GSP) to form the latest BTC executive council. BJP broke up its alliance with Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) in the recent polls.

Amit Shah congratulating the victory of the party had tweeted: “NDA secured a comfortable majority in Assam BTC election. Congratulations to our ally UPPL, CM @sarbanandsonwal, @himantabiswa, @RanjeetkrDass, and @BJP4Assam unit. I thank the people of Assam for their continued faith in PM @narendramodi ’s resolve towards a developed North East”.
