    Amrit Cement gives away Healthy Puja Awards

    The award was Amrit Cement’s attempt to recognize the Durga Puja committees which have adhered to all the ‘safety’ protocols needed for Covid 19

    Guwahati: In a first, Amrit Cement, the most promising cement brand of Northeast, on Friday gave away the “Amrit Cement Healthy Puja Award” to the healthiest and Covid-19 protocol conscious puja committees of the season.

    This year, Durga Puja was different as the global pandemic of Coronavirus has impacted every bit of our life. Unlike the previous time, this year Durga Puja was held with very limited resources and adhering to the Covid 19 hygiene protocols as well as social distancing.

    The award was Amrit Cement’s sincere attempt to recognize and pay respect to those Durga Puja committees of the season, which have carried out their utmost effort to adhere to all the ‘safety’ protocols needed for the betterment of society.

    The awardees were- Sri Sri Ugratara Devalaya Managing Committee, Restcamp Kalibari Durga Puja Committee and Dispur Sarbajanin Puja Committee.

    Pradeep Bagla, Managing Director, Amrit Cement commenting on the initiative stated, “In India, Durga Puja is being celebrated as a major festival. And keeping the current situation in concern it was highly needed that all Covid 19 protocols were followed by both Durga Puja committees and visitors. That’s why, we at Amrit cement, are glad to honour the three Durga Puja committees for their endeavor. We are glad to be a part of it.”

    Adding to him, Hitesh Baruah, the Managing Director of a city-based private hospital, who handed over the award to the winners said, “The concept of a health award is unique and highly encouraging. In this Covid 19 situation, it was a much-needed step by Amrit cement in promoting discipline and hygiene amongst all. I am glad to be a part of the occasion.”
