Tourist From Andhra Pradesh Drowns In Meghalaya River

A tourist from Andhra Pradesh got reportedly drowned in a river at Sohra in East Khasi Hills district.

As per reports, the deceased identified as Ravi Chandra (22) got drowned in the Rainbow falls while he was swimming near the Living root bridge on February 8th, 2019. The police retrieved the body and have handed over to the deceased family after completion of the post mortem.

It may be mentioned that a similar incident was reported last year in the month of November when a tourist had drowned near the Janailar falls in Cheranpunjee after he went swimming.
