‘Apna Time AA Gaya’; Assam Police uses bollywood song for first-time voters

Guwahati: Assam Police is once again back with their witty humour to raise awareness about things that matter. This time the state police has came up with a popular bollywood song to connect with the youths who are going to vote for the first time.

Assam Police in a tweet mentioned a bollywood song ‘Apna Time Ayega’ from the movie ‘Gully Boy’ and asked the voter if they are ready to vote. Although, they changed the song name to ‘Apna Time AA Gaya”.

With the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and unemployment being central issues for Assam in the elections this time, political parties appeared to be counting on some 12 lakh first-time voters in the state who they believed can play a crucial role.

While both the ruling BJP and the grand alliance led by Congress have promised lakhs of government jobs if come to power, for the first time voters, it would be their chance to assert their opinions through their votes.

Assembly elections in Assam would be held in three phases-March27, April 1 and April 6.
