Guwahati, June 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation has started their investigation against the disproportionate property of the suspended chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission, Rakesh Paul.
A team of CBI as per the directions by the court has initiated the investigation to track down the undisclosed property that Paul gained through his ‘illegal job trade’ racket.
According to police, the CBI has taken copies of all the necessary evidence that the Dibrugarh Police collected over their time of investigation of the case. The team has also taken the charge sheet copy.
Sujit Singh Paneshar, ASP, Dibrugarh police stated that the CBI will only investigate the issue of disproportionate assets possessed by Rakesh Paul and not the scam. The primary case will still be investigated by the Dibrugarh Police.
Currently, the CBI team is verifying all the evidence.
