Gangtok, December 13: The beauty of Sikkim cannot be captured in words, but AR Rahman will probably try to capture it through compositions now. The Oscar winning composer has just been appointed the Tourism Brand Ambassador for this exquisitely beautiful state.
Reportedly, Rahman will inaugurate the Red Panda Winter Carnival on January 8 at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, the event where chief minister Pawan Chamling will make the official declaration that the ‘Mozart of Madras’ has agreed to be the brand ambassador for Sikkim tourism.
What should get the entire region excited is Rahman will, in all probability, be performing with his 50 member strong team in a concert in Sikkim. The concert is being planned for February or March next year!
Rahman isn’t the first internationally renowned celebrity to be appointed as the Tourism Brand Ambassador of a northeastern state. Priyanka Chopra is the Tourism Brand Ambassador of Assam.
With the Tagline, ‘Sikkim, where nature smiles,’ the state is actually trying to give a facelift to it’s Tourism Scenario. More plans and policies are on the way.
