Armies of India-China celebrate Diwali at Bumla

Tawang, November 7: A delegation from the Indian side and from the Chinese side, during a Ceremonial Border Personal Meeting (BPM), jointly commemorated celebrations of the festival of lights at Bumla pass on Wednesday, located about 37 km away from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.

The delegations were led by Colonel Prasenjit Kar from Indian side and Colonel Yang Zi Ming from Chinese side. Both the parties interacted and exchanged greetings marking a sign to improve its military ties at ground level.

The meeting began with hoisting of the National flags and included lighting of the traditional earthen lamps.

The meeting stressed on importance of maintaining peace and tranquility along border areas, besides ensuring sanctity of the LAC.

The delegation leaders emphasized upon the need to maintain and improve relations at ground level to foster cordial ties between the two country.

The delegations parted with mutual commitment towards bolstering existing ties.
