Around 60 Assamese students reach home from Ukraine; More to come
Guwahati: Around 60 Assamese students have been evacuated from war-torn Ukraine and have been brought back to India.
As many as 22 students reached Delhi on Thursday morning and were received by officials from Assam Bhawan.
The students will stay at Assam House in the national capital until they return to their homes in Assam. The arrangements are being made by the state government to bring them back to Guwahati.
Earlier, three students arrived New Delhi yesterday and have been accommodated in the Assam Bhawan.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday informed that altogether 58 students of Assam has been evacuated from Ukraine by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Meanwhile, Assam chief secretary Jishnu Baruah has directed district administrations to reach out to parents of those students who are still stranded Ukraine.
The Assam government has a list of 160 people stranded in Ukraine and the process of evacuating all of them has been going on in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, till this afternoon.
