Guwahati: Atleast two persons were killed and six others critically injured in a road accident near Silapathar in Assam’s Dhemaji district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the incident took place when the vehicle carrying eight passengers from Yingkiong to Itanagar, lost control and collided with the railing of a damaged bridge at Silasuti, close to Silapathar.
Meanwhile, the police rushed to the scene and injured were taken to a nearby hospital in Silapathar.
The deceased identified as Yei Boje (23), residence of Aalo in West Siang district and Minam Tobi (28), from Mossing village in Upper Siang district.
The injured passengers have been identified as Tapa Sindhu, Joel Soren, Jarbi Gamlin, Rimpi Soren, Kayang Medo and Aza Doley.
Later, all of them have been shifted to the Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh for further treatment.
