Arunachal: 4 drug peddlers including one policeman apprehended in Changlang
Guwahati: Arunachal Police has busted a drug trafficking racket and detained four people, including a police personnel and seized 12 grams of suspected heroin in Chanlang, said official on Thursday.
On Wednseday, the Changlang Anti Drug Squad headed by Insp C. Yanchang, OC PS Changlang, and his party under the supervision of SP Changlang apprehended four drug peddlers, including one civil police officer, from three different locations in Changlang town in a day-long drive against drug peddlers, recovering around 12.34 gm suspected heroin from their possession.
The arrested accused identified as Lumeong Kalo (19), Winkap Sawin (26), David Longri, Ct APP (30) and Rajan Gowala (49).
On Tuesday, Roing police tracked down drug addicts and peddlers in an urban housing area near Kera Ati village and apprehended one individual with a suspected contraband substance and cash.
SP Changlang Mihin Gambo appreciated the ADS team for successful arresting of drug peddlers. SP also appreciated the proactive participation of local people specially women groups and youths from various villages and Changlang town in fighting against drug menace.
A team headed by DSP Ringu Ngupok acted on information received from reliable sources that selling and consumption of drugs were going on in the urban housing area.
