Arunachal: 50th golden jubilee celebration begins in Ziro valley
Guwahati: The month long celebrations of 50th anniversary of Arunachal Pradesh’s naming begins in the Ziro Valley in Lower Subansiri district on Thursday.
In 1972, the state got its name and Union Territory status.
The celebration will feature cultural and literary events, as well as indigenous games and sports, to highlight the state’s rich tradition and culture.
Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu paid floral tribute to late Shri Dani Kunia, first Agency Councillor of North Eastern Frontier Agency (NEFA) on Thursday morning at Ziro on occasion.
Taking to twitter, CM wrote, “On auspicious day of 50 years of naming of Arunachal Pradesh, happy to dedicate to people a new District Secretariat building at Ziro. We are happy fulfilling our promises for good public infrastructure. I congratulate the people of Lower Subansiri for this magnificent asset.”
Sanjay Dutt was unable to attend today’s 50th anniversary celebrations in Arunachal Pradesh, but he made sure to promote his special campaign for the state on social media.
“Proud to share my campaign for Arunachal Pradesh. My good wishes to the people of Arunachal for 50 year celebrations,” the actor tweeted.
This month-long event will culminate on February 20, 2022 at Itanagar during the 36th Statehood Day celebrations.
