    Arunachal Becomes Coronavirus-Free As Lone Patient Tests Negative

    The man from Medo village in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh had tested positive on April 1 and 7 last after two tests conducted with a decrease in viral load

    The first and lone novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patient in Arunachal Pradesh has tested negative for the second time within 24 hours, making the state free from any coronavirus case.

    His swab sample was sent to the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) at Dibrugarh in Assam.

    “The first positive COVID 19 case of Arunachal Pradesh has tested negative (twice) after conducting 3rd and 4th test consecutively. The number of positive case in state is now zero,” Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu wrote on Twitter.

    The patient hails from Medo village in Lohit district. He who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi last month.

    The man had tested positive on April 1st and 7th, 2020 after two tests conducted with decrease in viral load. The third test was done on April 14th, 2020 and it was found negative. Arunachal Pradesh has so far confirmed just one positive case of COVID-19.

    The person has been kept in an isolation ward at Tezu zonal hospital and is likely to be discharged on April 17th, 2020. The patient is as of now asymptomatic and is being regular counselling.

    Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Khandu on April 16th, 2020 announced immediate monetary relief of Rs 3,500 to all the Arunachali’s stranded outside the state amid the COVID-19 induced lockdown.
