GUWAHATI: The government of Arunachal Pradesh on Monday converted the newly constructed MLA cottage, located at Doni Colony, Itanagar, into COVID hospital and said that concrete steps are being taken to contain the spread of the virus.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, “My thanks to all who contributed in making operational the MLA apartment, Itanagar converted to a dedicated COVID hospital. The hospital is now ready to treat Covid-19 patients and will commence its services from tomorrow.”
Khandu categorically thanked all the 60 legislators of the state for their immediate and readily consent to the proposal given by the health department for converting the MLA cottage into a Covid-19 hospital.
He also lauded the doctors, nurses, subordinate health workers and other frontline Covid warriors of the state for their collective spirits shown to defeat the pandemic.
So far, 2155 persons have been tested Covid-19 positive in Arunachal Pradesh out of which 1482 persons have cured. However, 670 persons have still been undergoing treatments in various hospitals of the state. Till August 9, 3 persons had succumbed to the disease in Arunachal Pradesh.
