Guwahati: In a horrific incident of fire, over 700 shops and residences gutted by a massive fire on Tuesday in a daily market of Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh.
Luckily there was no casualty reported in the incident. However, properties worth of several crores believed to have been destroyed in the fire.
The reason behind the fire was also yet to be ascertained.
Locals alleged that despite the fire station was only a few meters away from the market, the fire department has failed to act timely and check the devastation.
Eye witnesses claimed that the fire first caught two of the shops in the market when the fire department was alerted. But due to an alleged delay in action for almost an hour, the fire started to spread and gutted hundreds of shops.
Locals demanded the termination of all the officials of fire department and compensation urgently.
