    Arunachal To Provide Financial Aid To Those Stranded Outside The State

    Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu announced immediate monetary relief of Rs 3500 to all the Arunachali's stranded outside the state

    Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on April 16th, 2020 announced immediate monetary relief of Rs 3500 to all the Arunachali’s stranded outside the state amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) induced lockdown.

    The decision of providing monetary relief was taken during the state cabinet meeting held through video conferencing. Khandu also informed that it was the fourth cabinet meeting held this month in a row.

    “In view of the grievances and issues faced by the persons from Arunachal Pradesh stranded across the country, the cabinet decided to provide financial assistance to all such persons,” Khandu said.

    He added, “It was decided that an amount of Rs 3500  will be disbursed to all persons of Arunachal Pradesh stranded outside the state for sustenance during the Lockdown period from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.”

    The Chief Minister further informed that the financial assistance will be disbursed by the concerned Deputy Commissioners in consultation with the local MLAs and other stakeholders such as through Direct transfer in their bank accounts or through UPI after due diligence and verification by the Concerned District Administration.

    The Google Doc sheet which was circulated by the State government to gather the information of all such persons stranded outside the state will be shared with the respective DCs for the disbursement of the said financial assistance, Khandu said.

    The cabinet further decided to extend the date and time for registration of persons stranded outside to April 19th, 2020 till 2400 hours for the process of disbursements.

    Khandu also mentioned that all those persons who are not able to register on the Google Doc sheet due to any reason by the extended timeline can contact their respective Deputy Commissioners or MLAs for assistance, which will be provided after due diligence and verification by the Concerned District Administration.

    It may be noted, Arunachal Pradesh’s first and lone COVID-19 patient has tested negative for the virus in the third test.

    “The first positive (coronavirus) case of Arunachal has tested negative today after conducting the 3rd test. He was kept in isolation for 13 days, under the observation of doctors. Repeat sample is being collected today again,” Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, tweeted.
